Michelle Stevenson

Michelle Stevenson is the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for the Milken Institute. Overseeing publishing, brand and design, the website, social media, and earned media, Michelle has ample opportunities and platforms from which to tell the interesting and impactful stories of the Institute and its decades-long work focusing on financial, physical, mental, and environmental health. Currently, she is overseeing the build of a new website, while recently she has developed online supporter engagement pathways, launched a staff newsletter, kick-started MI’s internal speakers bureau, built a marketing department, and re-imagined the visual storytelling of the windows in the MI LA office. She began her career in film development at Sony-based and Warner Bros.-based production companies, then transitioned to public relations, shifting her focus from storytelling to telling stories on behalf of brands. She has worked with Tourism Australia, Travel Nevada, and CB2, among many others. Michelle spent more than a decade at the helm of national and international communications firms including Senior Vice President at FleishmanHillard, Managing Director at Burson-Marsteller, and Executive Vice President at HL Group. In 2019, Michelle led The Giving Keys (TGK), a social impact jewelry company, as COO and CMO. Michelle is a 2024 judge for the Cannes Lions Young Lions competition. She is a founding member of Chief, the organization for professional women.
