Kanika Singh

Kanika Singh is director of innovative finance at the Milken Institute. She is responsible for executing the Institute's signature research projects, Financial Innovations Labs, which address market failures and financing gaps for society's greatest challenges, with a specific focus on climate finance and how innovative financing models can improve community resiliency.

Prior to joining the Milken Institute, Singh worked in the hedge fund industry in New York, where she drove research efforts through a cross-sectoral and global approach to identify investment opportunities for chief investment officers. She was also the lead economist at an independent think tank in London and Singapore, where she worked with clients ranging from investment banks to sovereign wealth funds. She has demonstrated experience in rigorous macroeconomic analysis, investing in developing countries, and portfolio management in global financial markets. She has also built and maintained relationships in C-suite, nongovernmental organizations, and policy circles. Singh is an active community volunteer focused on food equity and intergenerational progress. She holds a Master of Science in sustainability management from Columbia University and a Master of Science in economics from the London School of Economics.
