Joseph Haskins, Jr.
Joseph Haskins Jr. is a founding member of The Harbor Bank of Maryland; one of the top African American owned and operating financial institutions in the United States, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of its parent company, Harbor Bankshares Corporation. Mr. Haskins has received numerous awards and honors including Entrepreneur of the Year by international accounting firm Ernst & Young and Business and Civic Hall of Fame Honoree by The Baltimore Sun. In various capacities, including transition teams and commissions, he has served five Maryland Governors, four Baltimore Mayors, and the Maryland Comptroller of the Treasury. Mr. Haskins currently serves on the BGE/Exelon, Security Title and all Harbor Bankshares Corporations’ boards. Additionally, he currently serves as a member of the Maryland Cybersecurity Council and COVID-19 Access to Justice Task Force. He holds a BA in Economics from Morgan State University, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University. In addition, he holds an advanced banking certificate from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
