Tetsuo Nishihara

Tetsuo Nishihara

Tetsuo Nishihara is the President and Representative Director for UPS Japan and is based in Tokyo. He is responsible for the strategic management of UPS’s express delivery operations in Japan.

Tetsuo has been on the manufacturer's side for nearly 20 years and has extensive business experience both in Japan and overseas including the U.S. and Southeast Asia. He has experience in multiple leadership roles in sales, business development, and product marketing.

Prior to joining UPS, Tetsuo was the General Manager for Branson Ultrasonics at Emerson Japan where he was responsible for the business unit’s overall P&L, as well as the management of teams in Japan and other countries in Southeast Asia. At Branson Ultrasonics, Tetsuo focused on the rapid growth of lithium-ion batteries and reorganized company’s portfolio to increase top-line revenues. He also led a cross-functional team to execute from development to sales strategies 

for new products, and for GM, he implemented segment selection and focused internal resources and personnel to speed up the resolution of customer issues and increase sales. Before Emerson, Tetsuo worked in Sumitomo Electric where he gained his extensive experience in managing the sales of the business. In the client's parts supply, he proposed the creation of an entire supply chain across multiple borders that improved cost, quality, and delivery time overall which helped 

company’s long-term success. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Keio University in Japan, and MBA from UNC 

Kenan-Flagler Business School in the U.S.
