Terrence M. Burgess, CFASenior Managing Director, Managing Partner, Head of Investment BoutiquesTerry is the head of Investment Boutiques, which includes nearly 50 investment teams working across asset classes and around the world. In this role, he strives to ensure that we attract, retain, and motivate excellent research and portfolio management professionals, supporting each investment team’s success and providing fiduciary oversight. He also serves as one of the firm’s three managing partners, who are collectively responsible for the governance of the Wellington Management partnership. He is located in our Boston office. Prior to being named head of Investment Boutiques, Terry was head of Investment Research, comprised of more than 100 professionals who directly manage client assets, conduct in-depth research, and provide investment recommendations for portfolio managers and analysts across the firm. Before joining Wellington in 2005, Terry worked at MFS Investment Management (1993 – 2005) in a variety of positions, including equity analyst, covering companies in the basic resources, cable, media, and telecom sectors. He previously worked in our London office. Terry earned his MBA from Boston College (Carroll, 1999) and his BA in economics and political science from Bates College (1993). Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston.
