David Steinberger is the co-founder and CEO of DSTLRY. In 2007, while completing his MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business, Steinberger and his co-founders won the school’s business plan competition and launched comiXology, which rapidly evolved into the country's leading digital comic distributor. ComiXology was the top grossing non-game app on iPad for three years running and ran both Marvel Comics and DC Comics apps for over a decade. ComiXology was purchased by Amazon in 2014, where Steinberger stayed on to run global digital comics and manga until departing in 2022. Notable programs launched include comiXology Submit (indie comics), comiXology Unlimited (all-you-can-read subscription) and the multi-Eisner-winning comiXology Originals (original comics).In mid 2022, Steinberger co-founded DSTLRY, a groundbreaking physical/digital comic and collectibles company, with an emphasis on creator-owned comics and premium collectibles. DSTLRY stands out for its focus on providing creators with an equity stake in the company, an approach that aligns the interests to create and sell the best content. DSTLRY aims to further revolutionize digital comics with ownership and a vertical marketplace debuting in 2024. Steinberger holds an MBA from The NYU Stern School of Business and vocal performance degrees from Manhattan School of Music (Masters) and The Juilliard School (Advanced Certificate).
