The growing prevalence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) around the world poses a serious challenge to our health and well-being, including the health systems we all rely on for our care. In the United States alone, 2.8 million people develop an antibiotic-resistant infection that leads to the deaths of more than 35,000 every year. Moreover, AMR will cost the US health system an extra $20 billion in treatment costs.

Complicating the situation is a lack of new antibiotics becoming available due to the financial challenges in their development. But what does this mean for patients who might be vulnerable or have a chronic condition, and are at greater risk from a drug-resistant infection? This webinar discusses what the risks are to patients, how AMR can impact our society and health systems, and what we can do to advocate for more action.
