Climate Outcomes 2035: New Pathways to Accelerate Capital Deployment for Net Zero and Nature

It is no secret that we are off-course and unlikely to meet the Paris Agreement’s mid-term carbon reduction goals by 2030. The dangerous consequences of climate change are now a daily reality across the globe threatening millions of lives and trillions of dollars of built assets by 2050. At the same time, current strategies to deploy public and private capital such as Investor 100+ and carbon pricing are experiencing mixed success, amid conflicting trends as both global oil demand and clean energy deployment rates rise together. Navigating this zone of paradox will demand adaptive strategies over the next critical decade of deployment. That’s why we must re-think the road to Net Zero by front-loading more climate adaptation and resilience investment and building next generation mechanisms to reach the Paris Agreement’s goals.
