Currently the world’s fifth largest economy and set to overtake Japan and Germany by 2030, India is especially notable given its favorable labor force, demography, technological innovations and digitalization, and other characteristics. Many challenges to greater market participation remain, however, including bureaucratic red tape, deficient infrastructure, and political unpredictability, among others.
