It is far too common that financial and operational bottlenecks choke off technology transfers needed to meet global challenges—demand for renewable energy solutions increases, yet investment in this sector is flat; new treatments, diagnostics, and health delivery modalities are urgently needed, yet investments in medical technology diffusion have declined; water-stressed regions grow, yet adoption of precision agriculture is low. This private session, which will include sustainable and impact finance investors, IFC-Milken Global Scholars and alumni, Milken Israel and Global fellows and alumni, other technology and financial R&D and institutional partners, and lessons from the MI Financial Innovation Labs, will focus on projects at the pre-development stage or in development and implementation—such as FinTech, water sustainability, life-sciences R&D, resilient infrastructure, energy transition, and affordable housing. This working session, will be of vital interest to investors and policy practitioners working on accelerating sustainable economic growth. The goal is to develop project work streams for 2024-25 and beyond. The initial problem set-up will be followed by active discussion for work plans for the year ahead.
