Leadership and the State of American Politics

Tuesday, May 2, 2023
04:00 PM - 05:00 PM PDT
Beverly Hilton - Beverly Hills Ballroom

Disagreement and conflict resolution are foundational elements of the United States’ system of governance; divergent views on federalism, checks and balance, the separation of powers, etc. have been present since the founding of the country. While many see division among the critical issues facing the United States, broad consensus continues to lead to the enactment of bipartisan policies. In 2022 alone, legislation was signed into law with bipartisan support on issues ranging from U.S. competitiveness, mental health and firearm safety, support for same-sex marriage to electoral system reform. This panel will examine the role that political leadership plays in breaking through the noise and echo chamber of disagreement to focus on how and what can be accomplished as we lead-up to 2024.
