The Business Case for Private Sector Data Sharing to Improve Global Health (Invite only)

Monday, May 1, 2023
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT
Beverly Hilton - Maple

Governments around the world are assessing and investing in their capabilities and capacities to protect global health security. Robust data and analytics are essential to preventing and preparing for future public health crises. Data that reside in the private sector—if combined with public sector data—could yield far more predictive and actionable insights than public sector data could alone. Much has been written about the challenges and risks of private sector data sharing, but what about the opportunities? In this session, we will discuss the emerging role of private sector data sharing in strengthening global economic resilience and mitigating systemic commercial risks, ways to mitigate the known risks of sharing such data, a range of incentives for data sharing, and illustrative models and use cases for how the private sector can derive value from it.
