Four in 10 Americans now report feeling symptoms of anxiety and depression, an increase of 40% since the arrival of the pandemic, including many US veterans. The cost to the economy to address mental is projected to rise to $6 trillion by 2030, but research has found that every dollar invested in treatment generates a four-dollar return in productivity. Among other potential solutions, our participants will discuss substance abuse disorders and the burgeoning area of treatment by psychedelic drugs, formerly stigmatized but now resurfacing with hopeful evidence-based advancements.
