Our food system feeds the world's population and dramatically impacts the wellbeing of our planet. Diet-related chronic disease is now a leading cause of death, and our agricultural system is a leading contributor of global greenhouse gas emissions. While these facts seem dire, there has never been more innovation, capital, or will to create a healthier and more sustainable food system. Advances in microbiome research, food ingredients, agriculture, and food packaging, as well as the financial vehicles fueling these innovations, present tremendous promise. This panel will focus on the most promising innovations and provide a glimpse into the future of the food industry.
