About Public Finance Forum 2023

The annual Milken Institute Public Finance Forum brings together the leading innovators, investors, and issuers across the $4 trillion public-finance sector who fund, finance, and deliver essential community infrastructure projects and services. The 2023 event featured programming focused on addressing domestic US deployment and capacity challenges and exploring emerging opportunities and critical trends in international public finance. The Forum also served as a unique networking platform for cross-sectoral partnerships, hosting a variety of aligned, peer-to-peer events, including the Major City CFO Forum and Investors Roundtable on Infrastructure.

The Forum was organized by the Milken Institute Center for Financial Market’s Excellence and Equity in Public Finance Program, working with other Milken Institute innovation centers and initiatives, as well as programming partners who built best practices and inspiring outcomes-based partnerships among investors and communities across the United States.

Speakers included Amy Liu, Interim President, Brookings Institute; David Malpass, President, World Bank Group; Collin O’Mara, President, National Wildlife Federation; John Podesta, Senior Adviser to the President for Clean Energy Innovation and Implementation; Jigar Shah, Director of the DOE Loan Programs Office; and Heron Foundation President Dana Bezerra.
