Ramzi leads and oversees the industrial collaboration and entrepreneurship within MBZUAI. He is responsible for developing strategies and implement plans to promote and enhance research collaboration with industry in the UAE and globally, promote entrepreneurship and innovation, and drive knowledge transfer and initiatives in AI and cross-disciplinary research.
Ramzi is a seasoned entrepreneur, technologist, and executive with over two decades of experience at the forefront of solution sales and delivery. With a solid foundation in AI and a remarkable track record of forging highly successful strategic partnerships, Ramzi's illustrious career includes a noteworthy tenure at IBM, where he served as the Chief Technology Officer for France and later for the expansive Middle East and Africa region. His remarkable contributions culminated in the establishment of a groundbreaking joint research hub between IBM and MBZUAI. This strategic collaboration stands as a testament to his visionary leadership and his ability to catalyze transformative initiatives.
His active involvement in steering committees and boards for professional networks and NGOs further demonstrates his unwavering dedication to sustainability and innovation, values that align seamlessly with the university's mission.
