Executive Vice President, Head of Branch and Small Business Banking, U.S. Bank
Sekou Kaalund

With more than two decades of experience in financial services, Sekou Kaalund knows firsthand the ability institutions have to invest in, influence, and enact meaningful change in communities. As Executive Vice President and Head of Branch and Small Business banking for U.S. Bank, Kaalund is responsible for leading 13,000 employees across 2,200+ branches located in 26 states. Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Kaalund spent 15 years at JPMorganChase where his leadership contributions spanned institutional and retail businesses. He was the head of Chase Consumer Banking for the Northeast Division and held senior roles in the Corporate and Investment Bank, including Americas Head of Sales for Public & Corporate Pensions and Global Head of Sales for Private Equity Fund Services. Kaalund's commitment to impact led to his involvement in launching and leading Advancing Black Pathways, the first global corporate initiative that leveraged a data-driven strategic framework to reduce the racial wealth gap. The success of this initiative resulted in JPMorganChase’s historic five-year firm-wide $30B commitment to advance racial equity. Kaalund previously held roles at Citi and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he was a commissioned bank examiner. Kaalund is member of the Executive Leadership Council, YPO, and has served on several non-profit boards. His contributions have been recognized by multiple organizations and featured in publications, including BBC, Forbes, NBC, CNBC, and Black Enterprise.
