Rachel Goslins

Rachel Goslins is the Executive Director and Chief Creative Officer of the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. Prior to this, she served as Director of the Arts & Industries Building at the Smithsonian Institution, leading the revitalization and reopening of the museum, closed to the public for over a decade, as a space to explore creativity, innovation and the future. From 2009 until 2015, she served as Executive Director of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, an advisory committee to the White House on cultural policy. Under her management, the Committee launched several major national initiatives in education and cultural diplomacy, facilitated federal and private funding for cultural priorities, and organized a high-profile advocacy campaign for arts education. Earlier in her career, Rachel founded a documentary production company, directing feature documentaries and working on productions for PBS, the Discovery Channel, the National Geographic Channel, and History. Before working in the arts, Rachel was an international copyright attorney with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and the U.S. Copyright Office. Rachel received her B.A. in English Literature from UC Santa Cruz and her J.D. from UCLA's School of Law. She is a Trustee for the Greater Washington Community Foundation, an Advisory Board Member of the Institute for Contemporary Art in Richmond, VA, and a 2012 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute.
