She studied a bachelor’s degree in law at the Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS University) and later pursued two master's degrees, one in Public Law from the School of Graduate Studies in Government and Public Policy at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), and another in Public Administration from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Politics at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). In her professional career, she stands out for her work in the Federal Judiciary, as well as her participation in various research and publications from the Postgraduate Program in Law at UABC. In 2018, she was a Federal Deputy during which she promoted major initiatives for the benefit of her community, such as the reduction of VAT in the border region, transparency of state resources, elimination of immunity, addressing the migrant crisis in the entity, establishment of the Municipal Institute for Women in Mexicali, and allocation of resources for the remodeling of the Mexicali International border crossing. In 2019, she became the first female mayor of Mexicali, achieving historical advancements for the residents of that municipality. In the state elections of 2021, she was elected Governor of the State of Baja California, making history as the first woman to assume this position.
