Mr. Harper joined the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust in 2015 as the Chief Investment Officer. With more than 25 years of institutional asset management experience, Mr. Harper is responsible for leading the investment team and managing the investment activities for the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust. Prior to joining the UAW Trust, he was the CIO for the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission, a $30 billion pension plan, where he led the investment department, chaired the Internal Investment Committee and directed the Strategic Partnerships. Previously, Mr. Harper worked with Evergreen Investments, Bank of America Capital Management (became Columbia Management), and SSgA.Mr. Harper earned his master’s degree in finance from Louisiana State University and his bachelor’s degree in finance from Louisiana Tech University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Society of West Michigan.
