Galia Gharabeg

Galia Gharabeg serves as a Reception and Placement caseworker at the International Rescue Committee in Los Angeles. Her role involves working closely refugees, offering them access to all the resources provided by IRC LA, as well as her own personal knowledge and experiences as a refugee, to ensure that families can establish a strong foundation as they embark on their new life in the United States.

Her family's journey from Iran to the United States in 2007 was motivated by a shared vision for a better and safer future. Galia's personal experiences as a refugee profoundly shaped her commitment to helping others facing similar challenges. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design in 2019 and has since applied her design expertise within the non-profit sector.

In 2023, Galia made the decision to join IRC, driven by a profound desire to give back to the organization and the individuals who have shaped her journey. She is preparing to pursue her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the near future, with the aspiration of expanding her ability to contribute and make a meaningful difference in the community.
