LOS ANGELES — More than 500 decision-makers from across the state will gather at the Beverly Hilton on Tuesday, October 19, for the 12th annual Milken Institute State of the State Conference , the leading policy and economics forum on California.

The conference looks at the most pressing issues facing the state and focuses on the viable solutions that can address the state′s long-term prosperity. This year′s theme is "Restoring California′s Prosperity," and includes a web site dedicated to the ideas of dozens of the state′s leaders for how we can overcome the seemingly intractable challenges facing the state.

Topics to be discussed at the conference include how to: revive the housing market; increase capital to small businesses; meet our public-pension-fund obligations; maintain California′s vital innovation leadership; and improve the state′s business climate. The luncheon session will feature some of the state′s leading political consultants and strategists debating the potential Election Day outcomes on a panel moderated by well-known pollster Frank Luntz.
