Andrea Feinberg, M.D., is the Chief Health Officer, at Geisinger, one of the nation’s largest health care organizations known for innovation in medical care. As a trained Internist, Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialist she uses lifestyle medicine to improve the health of patients, members and employees. She was instrumental in launching Geisinger’s Fresh Food Farmacy, a pioneering initiative that uses a “food as medicine” approach to treat Type 2 diabetes. Dr. Feinberg designed the program which educates patients about the causes of diabetes and provides tools to reverse the disease through education and lifestyle changes. Prior to Geisinger, she was an assistant professor of medicine at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. She served as medical director for an Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care practice and as Clinical Chief for Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Feinberg earned her medical degree at the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School.
