School Improvement, Technology, and the New American Workforce: Perspectives from the Business Community
Jan 01, 1996

Lewis C. Solmon

This work was originally presented before gatherings of educators, community members, and business and government leaders at the Milken Family Foundation State Education Conferences held during the fall of 1995 and the winter of 1996. These conferences were convened in four of the 30 states where Milken Family Foundation National Educator Awards are presented annually. The Milken Family Foundation National Educator Awards program was created to provide public and financial recognition to teachers, principals and other education professionals who advance excellence in education. The purpose of the State Conferences was to engage in a discussion between educators who have been recognized as highly effective in policy discussions and leaders from various sectors of the community and state. The addresses in this publication were made by panelists who were part of that dialogue.
