Check out the 3rd annual Forbes-Milken Institute Best Places Ranking, which lists the top 200 cities to do business or advance your career.
At the top of this year's list is San Jose, CA, home of Silicon Valley, followed by Austin, TX, San Francisco, CA, Boulder, CO, and Dallas, TX.
The rankings measure eight categories, including wage and salary growth, job growth and high-tech output growth. The list shows where the growth is in the U.S. economy today - and where business is booming.
This is the third year the Institute and its Regional and Demographics Studies group has teamed with Forbes magazine's editorial staff to produce the Best Places ranking. It measures 200 larger metro areas, and 94 smaller ones, using data primarily from the federal government
