Jonathan Jacobson
Founder and CEO, Highfields Capital Management LP
Jonathon Jacobson is the founder, CEO and chief investment officer of Highfields Capital Management LP, an $11 billion Boston-based investment management firm established in 1998. Prior to founding Highfields, he spent eight years as a senior equity portfolio manager at Harvard Management Co., which invests Harvard University's endowment, and held positions at Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Jacobson is a director of Clear Channel Media Holdings Inc. He is also a member of the Asset Managers' Committee of the President's Working Group on Financial Markets, formed in 2007 to foster a dialogue with the Federal Reserve Board and Treasury Department on issues of significance to the investment industry. He serves as vice chairman of the board at Brandeis University and a member of the Executive Committee of the Birthright Israel Foundation, and sits on the Investment Committee of the Weizmann Global Endowment Management Trust. Jacobson received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
