Yuri Garbuzov is an executive vice president and portfolio manager in PIMCO's Newport Beach office, focusing on structured credit products. He joined PIMCO in 1997, and has managed credit portfolios, including bank loans, convertibles and structured bank paper, and developed quantitative analytics for PIMCO. Before joining PIMCO, he was with the Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Harvard Project on Economic Reform in Moscow. A 15-year veteran of the investment industry, Garbuzov holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a master's degree in physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
