Roger Stein
Managing Director, Research and Academic Relations, Moody's
Roger Stein is the managing director of research and academic relations globally at Moody's Corp. Prior to this, he was president of Moody's Research Labs in New York. He has been actively engaged in developing new approaches to applied credit risk modeling for more than 20 years. As the co-head of Moody's KMV's research and product development, Stein led the development of commercial risk-management tools that have been widely adopted. He also worked extensively on techniques for risk model validation. Before MKMV, he led Moody's Risk Management Services research group. Stein has authored dozens of professional and academic articles and serves on the editorial boards of several finance-related journals. He is currently a research affiliate at the MIT Sloan School of Management. His latest book is "Active Credit Portfolio Management in Practice." Stein has a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a master's and Ph.D. from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
