David Heber

David Heber is a professor of medicine and public health at UCLA, chief of the Division of Clinical Nutrition, and director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition. He is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism, and clinical nutrition. Heber is the director of the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists and past chairman of the Education Committee and the Medical Nutrition Council of the American Society for Nutrition. He has written more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles and over 60 book chapters as well as two professional texts and four books for the public. His main research interests are obesity treatment and nutrition for cancer prevention and treatment. Heber holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a Ph.D. in physiology from UCLA and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School.
