Allan Jury
Director, U.S. Relations Office, United Nations World Food Programme
Allan Jury is director of the U.S. Relations Office for the World Food Programme. He is responsible for managing WFP's relations with its major partners in the U.S. government and representing WFP in dialogue with U.S.-based civil society and private organizations interested in global food assistance issues. He also coordinates WFP's relations with World Bank headquarters. Jury previously served as WFP's director of external relations and as chief of its Policy Service. He came to WFP after a 25-year career with the U.S. State Department, where he was director of policy and resource planning in the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration. He has worked on international humanitarian and refugee affairs since 1987, with assignments in Washington, Geneva and Bangkok. Other overseas diplomatic assignments have included the Philippines and the Netherlands. Jury received a B.A. from Macalester College.
