Anne Sheehan

Anne Sheehan is director of corporate governance at the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS). She is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate governance initiatives approved by the board of directors of the second-largest pension fund in the United States. She previously served as chief deputy director for policy under former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, representing the governor on more than 80 state boards, commissions and public authorities. Sheehan has had nearly three decades of management and leadership experience at the state and federal level. She was secretary of California's State and Consumer Services Agency under Gov. Pete Wilson and, in Washington, D.C., as deputy assistant secretary for congressional affairs in the Department of Energy during the Reagan administration. Sheehan serves as president of the state Personnel Board and chairs the California Earthquake Authority. She is a member of the board of directors of the Council of Institutional Investors.
