Dale Carlson
Executive for Advanced Engine Systems, GE Aviation
Dale Carlson is the executive for advanced engine systems at GE Aviation, where he is responsible for all government-funded technology initiatives as well as the strategic alignment of technology maturation with future propulsion system offerings (today to 2050). His group is leading efforts supporting combined cycle and alternative cycle engines with innovations in compressor and clean combustion technology. Carlson represents GE on the U.S. Department of Defense VAATE (Versatile Affordable Advanced Turbine Engine) Steering Committee. His organization has responsibility for cutting-edge technology demonstrator programs that demand innovative manufacturing solutions. Carlson holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in aeronautics and astronautics, specializing in computational fluid mechanics.
