Francisco Borges is President and CEO of Landmark Partners Inc., a full service alternative investment firm specializing in private equity and real estate. Landmark has formed 14 funds focused on venture capital, buyout, mezzanine, and real estate partnership investments totaling $3.8 billion. Prior to joining Landmark in 1998, Borges was managing director and a member of the board of directors of Financial Guaranty Insurance Company, a GE Capital company. Before joining GE Capital, Borges was twice elected Treasurer of the State of Connecticut. During his tenure, he diversified the state′s pension and trust portfolio, increasing its value from $4.5 billion to nearly$10 billion. He was also responsible for all debt issuance by the State of Connecticut and its quasi-public financing authorities. Borges was Deputy Mayor of the City of Hartford, and legal counsel for the Travelers Insurance Companies. He serves on the board of directors and investment committees for the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and the University of Connecticut Foundation, and is a board member and treasurer of the National NAACP. Borges earned his J.D. from the University of Connecticut Law School.
