Charles Y.S. Liu
Chairman and Founder, Hao Capital
Charles Y.S. Liu is chairman of Hao Capital, which manages Hao Capital China Fund I LP and Hao Capital China Fund II LP. He founded Hao Capital in 2005 as a private equity fund, investing in Chinese companies in a wide range of industries. Four of its portfolio companies have successfully listed overseas thus far; one was the first Chinese company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Liu previously served as managing director of Lazard Asia Ltd. and spent 15 years working for the United Nations organizing international economic conferences and executing development projects for international organizations and agencies. Liu has been invited to be a guest host on CNBC and regularly appears on CCTV, BBC and Bloomberg. He served on the board of directors and as chairman of the Investment Committee of Applied Materials Inc., the first Chinese national to serve on a Fortune 300 board. Liu graduated from Princeton University and attended the J.D. program of New York University Law School.
