Orin Hasson
Associate Program Officer, Development Finance and Economic Policy, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Orin Hasson is the associate program officer of development finance and economic policy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He works with the foundation's Global Health and Global Development groups to analyze innovative finance efforts as well as debt, guarantee and equity structures. He also works on coordinating a range of aid issues with the G‐20, World Bank and other multilateral partners. Before joining the foundation, Hasson worked briefly in the Public Sector Infrastructure unit at Goldman Sachs. Previously he helped implement a large cash‐for‐work irrigation program in Afghanistan and analyzed the financial needs of small Afghan small enterprises. Hasson has designed, implemented and evaluated international development projects for USAID, the World Bank, the ADB and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He holds an M.A. in conflict, security and development from the Department of War Studies at King's College London and an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
