Fran Maier is president and executive chair of TRUSTe, a leading provider of Internet privacy services. She has been instrumental in developing the TRUSTed Download Program and TRUSTed Ads, and in improving TRUSTe's Web privacy seal program. Previously she was co-founder of Match.com, and held executive marketing roles at Women.com and Kmart's BlueLight.com subsidiary, where she established online startup brands and brought offline blue-chip brands onto the Web. Maier speaks and writes widely about online privacy, security and trust, and represents TRUSTe in front of regulators, congressional committees and foreign data protection commissioners. In 2009, she won a Stevie Award for Women in Business in the category Best Executive of Service Businesses (up to 100 employees). In 2010, AlwaysOn named Maier one of the "Top 25 Women in Tech to Watch" in Silicon Valley. She is active in mentoring women in technology and serves on several advisory boards. Maier holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from Stanford University.
