John Batter
President of Production for Feature Animation, DreamWorks Animation SKG
John Batter is president of production for feature animation at DreamWorks Animation, responsible for worldwide production, post-production, technology and studio finance/operations activities. Now in his second stint at the company, Batter first joined PDI/Dreamworks in 1995 as chief financial officer and was part of the startup management team for DreamWorks Interactive, a joint venture between DreamWorks and Microsoft. He left in 2000 for Electronic Arts, where he held several positions, most recently general manager of EA Mobile, spearheading EA's entrance into the mobile games business. Previously he was CFO of Xatrix Entertainment, and held management positions in business development and planning with the Times Mirror Co. He began his career with Kaypro Corp., serving in a variety of positions at the computer maker, including director of strategic planning and general manager of Kaypro Europe. Batter received an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
