Zachary Karabell

Zachary Karabell, a Milken Institute fellow, is president of River Twice Research, an economic research and consulting company, and River Twice Capital Advisors, a money management firm. Previously, he was executive vice president, chief economist and head of marketing at investment firm Fred Alger Management; president of broker-dealer Fred Alger & Co.; portfolio manager of the five-star China-U.S. Growth Fund; and executive vice president of Alger's Spectra Funds, which managed the Alger Green Fund. Educated at Columbia, Oxford and Harvard, where he received his Ph.D., Karabell has taught at leading universities including Harvard and Dartmouth. He is the author of 11 books, most recently "Sustainable Excellence: The Future of Business in the 21st Century" with Aron Cramer. Named a "Global Leader for Tomorrow" by the World Economic Forum, he sits on the boards of the New America Foundation, the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs, and the World Policy Institute. He is a CNBC contributor and writes regularly for Time and other publications.
