Jae Edmonds is chief scientist and a laboratory fellow at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Joint Global Change Research Institute, a collaboration with the University of Maryland at College Park. His research in the areas of long-term global change in energy, technology, economies and climate spans three decades; his principal focus is the role of energy technology in addressing climate change. One of the pioneers in the field of integrated assessment modeling of climate change, Edmonds is the author of several books (most recently "Global Energy Technology Strategy, Addressing Climate Change"), numerous scientific papers and countless presentations. Edmonds is also chief scientist for the Integrated Assessment Research Program in the Office of Science at the U.S. Department of Energy. He has been an active participant in all the major assessments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
