Eric Fingerhut
Former Chancellor, The University System of Ohio; Senior Advisor, Jobs for the Future
Eric Fingerhut served as the seventh chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents and is currently senior advisor to Jobs for the Future. Fingerhut, who resigned earlier this year, was the first chancellor to join the governor's cabinet. In 2008, he delivered a 10-year "Strategic Plan for Higher Education" to the governor and the Ohio General Assembly and then worked to identify system-wide efficiencies, increase educational options, expand low-cost pathways to students, and reframe the relationship between business and higher education to create jobs and a highly skilled competitive workforce. Before assuming the chancellor's position, Fingerhut was director of economic development education and entrepreneurship at Baldwin-Wallace College and a senior lecturer at Case Western Reserve University. He also served in the Ohio Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. A graduate of Northwestern University and Stanford Law School, Fingerhut practiced in the Older Person′s Law Office of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
