Russ Jackson is Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Safeway Inc., a major food retailer with total sales of $44.1 billion in 2008. He is responsible for employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, talent management, leadership development, recruiting, health and wellness, and diversity inclusion programs. Before joining Safeway, Jackson was at Pacific Gas and Electric Corp., where he served as senior vice president of human resources. He received a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University, an M.B.A. from St. Mary's College, a master's degree in human resources and organizational development from the University of San Francisco and a certificate in human resources management from the University of California, Berkeley.
