Taha Abdul-Basser is Principal and Co-Founder of StraightWay Ethical Advisory LLC, a sharia compliance consulting group, founded and operated by financial ethicists, that offers ethical advisory services to the sharia-compliant financial services sector. Abdul-Basser is a consultant, researcher and translator in the field of Islamic ethics and law. The lead researcher and contributor to the "Sharia Database," the Harvard Islamic Finance Information Program's electronic database on Islamic financial ethics and jurisprudence, Abdul-Basser is also chaplain of the Harvard Islamic Society and has taught at Harvard University and Boston University. He was educated at Harvard University and the Spectra Institute of Language Studies in Yemen.
