Dilip Thakore

Dilip Thakore is the Bangalore-based Publisher and Editor of EducationWorld – The Human Development Magazine. India's sole publication focusing exclusively on education news and analysis, EducationWorld has an estimated readership of 750,000 per month. In 1991 Thakore authored Succession Derby, a corporate novel, while working as the founder-director of Datamatics Direct, India's first direct-mail marketing company. In 1978 he became the founder-editor of Business India, the nation's first business newsmagazine; he was later the founder-editor of Businessworld. Both these business magazines are established market leaders and significantly influenced the liberalization and deregulation of the Indian economy. He has also served as editor of Debonair. An alumnus of the Inns of Court School of Law, London, he practiced as a barrister at the Bombay high court for five years before becoming a marketing manager at Rallis India Ltd.
