Caryl Stern is President and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Previously she was the organization's chief operating officer and its acting president. Before joining UNICEF, Stern was chief operating officer and senior associate national director for the Anti-Defamation League. She is the co-author of Hate Hurts: How Children Learn and Unlearn Prejudice and Future Perfect: A Model for Professional Development, and a frequent contributor to magazines and journals. Stern has worked with the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice and participated in several White House initiatives. She served on the faculty of Manhattanville College's Graduate School of Professional Studies, as dean of students at Polytechnic University in New York and as national chairperson of the National Association for Campus Activities. She chaired Brooklyn's Unity Task Force and serves on the boards of the We Are Family Foundation and the Martin Luther King Memorial Project Foundation.
