Charles Ward III

Charles Ward III is President of Lazard and Chairman of Lazard Asset Management Group. He is focused on asset management, private equity, Asia and Latin America, and global industrials advisory work, among other areas. Ward was previously co-head of global investment banking and private equity at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), based in New York and London. He was a member of CSFB's executive board, and prior to the firm's merger with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, was president of CSFB. Ward was previously a founder and the president of Wasserstein Perella & Co. and co-head of mergers and acquisitions, and the media group at First Boston. He has been involved in advisory and financing transactions across many industries with a concentration on industrial companies. Ward received a bachelor's degree from Trinity College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
