David Abel
Chairman and Managing Director, VerdeXchange Institute
David Abel is Chairman and Managing Director of the VerdeXchange Institute, an environmental think tank and publisher that informs and advises innovators wishing to employ and deploy green technology in the marketplace. The institute shares with civic and commercial entrepreneurs the evolving business and government drivers that influence the global marketplace for innovation and technologies. Abel is also president and CEO of ABL Inc., a California-based public policy consulting firm engaged in foundation, civic and public affairs; the firm publishes The Planning Report, which focuses on land-use issues in Southern California, verdeXchange news and the Metro Investment Report, which covers infrastructure. Abel chairs a number of civic organizations, including New Schools Better Neighborhoods and the University of Southern California's Masters in Public Policy Advisory Board. He is also on the board of advisors of USC's Bedrosian Center on Governance and the Public Enterprise, and a lecturer on regionalism at the University of California, San Diego. He serves on the boards of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation and the Trust for Public Land California, among others.
