Jeffrey Lipton is Managing Director and Head of the CleanTech Practice at Jefferies & Company. The firm's CleanTech Practice was formed in 2003 and covers the broad clean-tech landscape, including solar, wind, advanced batteries, fuel cells, power storage and management, energy infrastructure, biofuels, biomaterials and advanced materials. Within the clean-tech sector, Lipton has worked with American Superconductor, Celunol, China Sunenergy, Diversa, Distributed Energy, Electro Energy, Energy Photovoltaics, EnerNOC, Energy Conversion Devices, Metabolix, Penford, Pentadyne, SunPower and Solar Integrated Technologies. Prior to joining Jefferies, he worked at Morgan Stanley in the General Industrial Group, with a primary focus on the chemical and general industrial sectors. Before Morgan Stanley, he worked at Schroders PLC in several sectors, including health care, chemicals and industrials. Lipton has executed multiple merger-and-acquisition transactions, public and private equity, and debt financings. He received a bachelor's degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D./M.B.A. from Columbia University.
