Shari Berenbach
Executive Director, Calvert Social Investment Foundation
Shari Berenbach is Executive Director of the Calvert Social Investment Foundation. She is a leader in the emerging community investment industry, managing more than $100 million in community investment assets raised from 2,000 private investors. Berenbach's 20-year financial services background ranges from micro-credit to international finance. Prior to joining the Calvert Foundation in 1997, she worked for the International Finance Corporation and held private-sector positions at Citibank and Salomon Brothers. Berenbach was one of the pioneers in the micro-credit field, working in more than a dozen countries around the globe. She serves on the board of the Neighborhood Funders Group and Community Wealth Ventures, and remains active in the Social Investment Forum. She is the author of numerous articles related to international micro-finance and community investment. Berenbach received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a master's degree in Latin American studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
