Blake Schaefer is Director of Global Environmental Finance at Stark Investments, where he specializes in carbon and related environmental commodity/equity investment and trading strategies. He recently relocated from London to San Francisco to expand Stark's environmental finance facility and focus more closely on the emerging domestic carbon market. Prior to establishing Stark's London carbon-trading facility in 2006, he specialized in Chinese and Indian carbon-emissions investment for the European Carbon Fund at Ixis Corporate & Investment Bank in Paris. Schaefer examined the European Emissions Trading Scheme while obtaining a master of science degree from the University of Oxford (St. John's College). He also received a bachelor of science and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, with a minor in forestry service.
