Steve Brown is President and CEO of KC Distance Learning Inc. (KCDL), the nation's largest provider of online learning to high school students. Based in Portland, Oregon, KCDL encompasses three brands: Keystone National High School, Aventa Learning and iQ Academy. Passionate about the online environment, Brown founded and served as CEO of a Seattle-based Internet software company. He was previously senior vice president of merchandising and strategic planning at Hollywood Entertainment, and spent five years as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. Brown sits on the board of the Portland Children's Museum. He received a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and a master's degree and a Ph.D. as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford.
